The directors and management have been operating in Southern Africa since 1972 and in this time have contracted to many large organizations across a spectrum of industries including Tiger Oats Group, Nampak Group, Feltex Group, Delta Corporation, Lafarge Cement, Anglo American, Zimplats, Zimbabwe Phosphate and ZFC, Zimbabwe Leaf Tobacco, PPC Zimbabwe, Nyangani Renewable Resources(Hydro Electrical power plants) Zimplats, Ngezi mine, Peacock and Simpson, Appropriate Process Technologies, Bateman Group and Cochranes to name a few.
Among other contracts, we have undertaken the mechanical installation on five separate water reticulation plants in Natal at locations such as Mondi Paper Mills, Merewent and Sea Cow Lake; numerous boiler installations for Cochranes Engineering and John Thompson Boilers as well as large Redler & Aumund conveyor installations for Bateman Engineering.
Quick Tech has undertaken many complete turnkey projects such as the construction of the Shepherds Reef Mine in Chegutu, Zimbabwe, where, as with many other projects, we undertook all civils, mechanical engineering, machinery installation and rigging.
Safety is of top priority in our company and we can therefore boast an excellent safety record of zero fatalities since our registration, zero major accidents to machinery or personnel requiring medical attention, less than 4 minor accidents over the past 15 year period and zero minor accidents in the past 2 years
Since we have all the necessary certified rigging gear, we are fully equipped for any rigging contract. We handle heavy, dangerous, high-lift jobs. We regularly move heavy items such as transformers weighing over 130 tons for companies such as Zimbabwe Electrical Transformer Company (ZETCO), most by hand, as often there are no adequate cranes available in the remote locations to undertake such weights. We rig UPS and GENSET systems to the tops of banks and other high-rise buildings, some without the use of cranes for companies such as Power Tronics and Tendo Electrical.
Many of our contracts are in remote areas. For example we high pressure welded 4 Hydro Power station pipelines without any outside assistance. We were self sufficient to handle everything on site with over 50 personal. Also included are chimney erections for instance, some over 45 meters high, have had to be raised without the use of cranes.
In recent years we have undertaken contracts throughout the Southern African region including the Western Cape, Zambia, Tanzania (setting up a new gold mine) and the DRC (moving a big Transformer).
With a fully qualified crew and all the necessary equipment on hand, as well as years of experience Quick Tech Rigging and Engineering has attained region-wide recognition as a reputable company and leaders in specialized quality engineering, coded welding and rigging services.
We intend on growing our business and to become the preferred business partner on engineering projects throughout Africa.
